Web Deals Direct LLC has implemented Amazon Transparency, a product serialization process that assigns a unique tracking label to every product manufactured for sale by the company. The labels are proving to be very effective in detecting and removing counterfeit goods from Amazon, ensuring they are not shipped to customers.
Transparency labels enable tracking of each retail unit from the location where it was manufactured to the final consumer. To verify authenticity, Amazon scans each unit prior to shipping it to consumers. To double-check their purchase, consumers may scan Transparency labels utilizing a mobile app available on the Apple and Google Play stores.
All Web Deals Direct brands carry government-issued trademarks and Amazon brand registry, the two primary requirements for enrolling in Amazon Transparency.
“As brand owners, we pride ourselves on consistently delivering high-quality goods to our customers,” said Web Deals Direct CEO Adam Feinberg. “With the launch of Transparency, we have made a significant investment in protecting the integrity of the goods we sell on Amazon.”
“We joined the program to prevent unauthorized sellers from selling on our Amazon product listings and to ensure all customers are receiving authentic Web Deals Direct products,” said Lisa Archi, chief operating officer at Web Deals Direct. “It was a big undertaking since all units have to be labeled with an additional sticker.”
Web Deals Direct personnel added Transparency stickers to more than 1 million units to launch the counterfeit eradication program. The company’s warehouse team dedicated to quality control, packaging and labeling undertook the massive task.
“Web Deals Direct has built a number of brands with tremendous customer loyalty in just a few short years,” added Web Deals Direct President Richard Bell. “That loyalty can make a brand attractive to counterfeiters, so we felt it was important to implement Transparency across all our product lines.”
